Mountain bike (MTB)
A mountain bike is defined by its suspension, wide knobbly tyres and reinforced frame. For Georgian terrain - from the trails behind the Botanical Garden to the runs at Bakuriani - it is the most versatile choice. A hardtail (front suspension only) is cheaper and lighter; full suspension adds substantial comfort on demanding descents.
A road bike has narrow tyres, a light frame and drop bars. If the goal is distance and a high average speed, nothing else comes close. Focus your attention on the frame material (aluminium or carbon) and the groupset.
An electric bike assists the rider with a motor and battery. On Tbilisi gradients that changes the calculation entirely - you arrive at work without breaking a sweat. The parameters that matter are battery capacity (Wh) and motor placement: a mid-drive distributes weight better than a hub motor.
A gravel bike pairs road geometry with wider tyres. It is fast on tarmac and composed on loose surfaces. If you want a single bike that works for the commute and for weekend touring, start here.
An urban bike gives you an upright position, racks and mudguards. Over short distances, on the commute or riding around town it is the most practical option and needs the least maintenance.
Kids bikes are chosen by wheel diameter, not age: 12" (ages 2-4), 16" (4-6), 20" (6-9), 24" (9-12). Buying a size up "to grow into" is the most common mistake - the child cannot control the bike and loses interest.
Frame size follows your height. Between two sizes: pick the smaller one for lively handling, the larger one for comfort.

Frequently asked questions
Which bike should a beginner choose?
For a beginner the best choice is a hardtail mountain bike or a hybrid in the 1,200-2,000 GEL range. They are versatile, cheap to maintain and work on tarmac and trail alike. Move to a dedicated road or full-suspension bike once you know which kind of riding you actually enjoy.
How do I work out my bike size?
Frame size follows your height: 160-170 cm - S, 170-178 cm - M, 178-186 cm - L. If you fall between two sizes, take the smaller one for lively handling and the larger one for comfort. Get in touch for an exact fit.
What does a good bike cost in Georgia?
Kids bikes start at 450 GEL, urban bikes at 900, mountain bikes at 1,200, road bikes at 1,800 and electric bikes at 2,500. A branded mountain bike below 1,200 GEL essentially does not exist - under that price, quality and safety become questionable.
Is an electric bike worth it?
If you ride more than 5 km daily or have to climb Tbilisi gradients, yes. An electric bike is the one type that genuinely replaces a car in the city. If you mainly ride for fitness, a conventional bike is the better buy.
Do you offer warranty and servicing?
Yes. Every bike carries the official manufacturer warranty on the frame and components. We deliver across Georgia, free on every order.
